5 03 2010

It’s always inspiring to see photos of wildlife in magazines such as National Geographic… etc. I am sure it was a reason for some of us to become photo enthusiast. Here are some tips from great wildlife photographers:

  • shoot at the highest burst of frames per second
  • fast lens
  • practice on pets
  • don’t get too close
  • focus on the edge of the herd
  • for birds, look for those that repeatedly traverse the same flight pattern, and learn the pattern. Then find a background.
  • song birds are best photograph in spring as they define and defend their territories. the males will have their favorite singing perches.
  • use motion triggered camera
  • use bait. like water source in the middle of the Arizona desert almost guarantee a few thirsty subject
  • hire a local guide

But first, you must get up from the couch and go outdoors! That’s my take :)

5 03 2010

Personally, i think those iPhone sleeve, casing, silicon case… etc just make your iPhone ugly! iPhone’s beauty is when it’s without those ‘casing’. For those who share the same view as me will mostly likely have a scratch up iPhone after a being in your pocket with the keys and the coins. But fear not, there is a way to restore your iPhone to pristine condition.

Here is what you need:

  • Sandpaper 320(or 500),800,1000,1500,2000,2500,3000 grit
  • 3M Rubbing compound
  • Machine Polisher ( Power Drill or small buffer)
  • Microfibers
  • Sticky tack and or tape

Hack n Mod has posted a cool tutorial on how to give an abused iPhone a fresh out-of-the-box look.

To fix scratches on the back,  you need to gently dry sand it, then add some water to wet sand and polish it with a 3M Headlight Lens Restoration Kit. The detailed step-by-step pictorial offers information on what grit of sandpaper to use and how to get the mirror-like finish.

PlayStation 2 is 10 years old

5 03 2010

Launch on March 4th 2000, and went on to see over 140 million units and it’s still going strong! I know PS fanboys who will never let go of their PS2 machine, quoting compatibility issues, but we know the real reason. It your first love, huh?

It’s been a pretty good 10 years for PS2, with games God of War which brought you mind blowing cinematic experience. For extra-nostalgic experience, go visit the Sony’s website on Playstation

Too bad I don’t think PS3 will ever live up to it’s sibling, but that is my take :)
