Although Ubuntu 10.04 a.k.a Lucid Lynx is a LTS release, but it is starting to irritate me to a certain extent. I have fixed issues such as slow wireless, wireless dropping all the time, and even WebEx. And today, I have finally gotten the DVD burner to work!
Anyway, just to share the fix with rest of the folks out there who are supporting Ubuntu (!), the fix is fairly simple for it. It seems that although Brasero was installed by default (or maybe from Ubuntu 9.10), Brasero was not able to detect the DVD writer. When I place a blank DVD in to the drive, it detects the blank DVD, but when i actually click “write to disc”, the program only gave me the option to write to an “image”.
After a quick uninstall of Brasero and installing the CD/DVD Creator from the “Ubuntu Software Center”, everything is working fine for me now
