50mm f0.95 @ $750

Super fast lens here, and it’s consider very cheap at $750 if you compare it to the Leica Noctilux-M version which start at more than $10K. The only problem here is, it’s designed for Micro Four Thirds (i.e. Olympus PEN E-PL1), sorry for the Canon and Nikon user out there, including me 😦

I believe the price is made possible because it’s made for Micro Four Thirds, and it doesn’t need to design for the long flange back which translate to a simpler and more compact lens with smaller diameter requirement. You can get more detail on Micro Four Thirds at the http://www.four-thirds.org/en/microft/index.html

As a DSLR user, I believe Micro Four Thirds is the future due to the benefit in lens design and size, once it solves problem such as slow focusing speed, better batteries and better sensors too. That’s my take 🙂
