[news] Gmail goes Location Aware to Thwart Hackers

5 04 2010

It’s good to know that Gmail is putting in more effort to prevent your account from being hack.

After all, if you take notice of the bottom part of your gmail account for the past few months, you would have notice that it has always displayed where else you have your gmail account open. This time they are just increasing the security by informing you when there are suspicious activity based on your i.p. address.

Keep it up gmail team,  A little bit more security is better than none. For example, I just found out last week that the Sarah Palin Yahoo mail account hack is still possible.  e-mails are an important part of our life now, and being a bit more paranoid is good. That’s my take.
