Asustek will launch it’s own tablet device at Computex in June. The tablet will run Google’s Android operating system, and will have features which are missing on Apple’s iPad, such as USB ports, webcam and will even support Flash.
Asustek’s chairman, Jerry Shen said that the touchscreen device will consume 10%~20% of the netbook market, and they are keen to offset a decrease in netbook sales with tablet devices.
The Eee Pad is expected to be based on Nvidea’s Tegra chip, and will be prices around $500.
