It’s a big step for the environmentalist because starting July 1, 2011, Hawaii becomes the first state in US to ban the possession of shark fins. I believe this is an important step to take to preserve our natural treasures. People think only about how exotic the sea is, how beautiful when you have clear blue seas and you can see marine life swim by. But a lot of people forget that you have to do their part to make all of this be there for the children, or even if they themselves want to see those sights 5 years from now.
Kudos for the people who made this happen, and I hope to see more countries follow suit! That’s my take.
